Rangoli-Making Competition

Jammu, November 3, 2025-Students of Grade 7th participated in Rangoli-making Competition. A Rangoli-making competition is a vibrant and creative event where participants showcase their artistic skills by designing intricate patterns using various materials such as  coloured powder, flowers and diyas. In this competition 3rd prize was won by Sadhya (Group), 2nd prize was won by Mehak (Group) and 1st prize was awarded to Sareshtha (Group).

 Fancy Dress Competition

Jammu, November 1, 2025- Students of grade 3rd participated in Fancy Dress Competition. The students participated in this competition with great joy and enthusiasm. It was an exciting and lively event where participants showcased their creativity and talent by dressing up in elaborate costumes representing different characters. In this competition 3rd prize was won by Niharika (fairy ), 2nd prize went to Vedant (Pilot) and 1st prize was awarded to Harsimrat (Teacher).

Diwali Celebration

Jammu, October 18, 2025 – Celebration of Diwali. Diwali was celebrated with great devotion and enthusiasm beginning witth a traditional Pooja. Students delivered informative and Inspiring speeches highlighting the significance of Diwali. Teachers also shared their reflection and insights through speeches adding depth and meaning to the Diwali celebration. The Pre primary wing celebrated Diwali with immense enthusiasm and joy. The children  relished a special meal, joyfully brust crackers and performed a lively dance making the Diwali celebration vibrant and membrable.

Rakhi Making Competition

Jammu, August 8,2025- Students of grade 8th,9th and 10th participated in the Rakhi Making Competition to celebrate Rakhsha Bandhan, a significant festival in culture that symboizes the bond between brothers and sisters. In this competition, 3rd prize was awarded to Yashika and Yasmeen, 2nd prize to Ridhi and 1st prize to Molik.
Rakhi Competition is a craft activity where individuals create handmade rakhis, which are colorful threads or wristbands tied around the wrist of brothers by their sisters as a symbol of love, protection, and sibling bond. Students of grade 1st to 7th participated with great enthusiasm.

Celebration of Independence Day Cum Janmashtami

Jammu, August 14,2025- Our school celebrated Independence Day cum Janmashtami. Various cultural programmes were performed by students, lamp lighting ceremony was graciously performed by our Respected Principal Sir. On this special occasion of Janmashtami, cake cutting was done by our Respected Principal Sir, Students were beautifully dressed as Radha and Krishna avtar adding charm to celebration. Dahi- Handi and Dandiya was also performed.
Our Respected Principal Sir facilated the students and teachers with cheque prizes. At the end Jhanki of Krishna and Radha was also performed.
Janmashtami and Independence Day are two significant celebrations in India, each having its own unique importance.
Janmashtami is a Hindu festival that celebrates the birth of Lord Krishna, a revered deity known for his wisdom, compassion, and divine love.
Independence Day, on the other hand, commemorates India’s freedom from British rule, marking the historic day when the nation gained sovereignty on August 15, 1947.

Celebration of Independence Day

Jammu, August 15,2025- Celebration of Independence Day. Independence Day Flag is a grand celebration in India. India gained independence after years of struggle. The flag hosting ceremony is a symbol of national pride, unity, and sovereignty.
The ceremony began with Flag hosting ceremony, National Anthem, Parades and marches. Flag hosting was done by worthy Principal Sir and Director Sir. NCC Contingent of SNS Gandhinagar passed on the parade for the 1st time on this occasion.
National Anthem was sung in the end.

Students Visit Fire Station to Learn About Fire Safety

JAMMU, July 28, 2025 – Second-grade students visited the
Fire Station in Gandhi Nagar on July 28, 2025. The visit was organized under
the supervision of Mrs. Mamta Mahajan, Mr. Manjeet Singh, and Ms. Anshika
Gupta. The educational trip aimed to teach students about fire safety and the
important role firefighters play in our community.

 

During the visit, the students toured the fire station,
where they saw the equipment, learned about fire prevention, and gained insight
into the daily activities of firefighters. The firefighters also conducted
interactive demonstrations and answered questions, creating an engaging
learning environment for the young students.

 

Mr. Zakir Hussain, the fire station chief, also showed the
students the memorial dedicated to firefighters who lost their lives in the
line of duty.

Second Graders Discover Community Connections at Post Office

Second-grade students from our school recently visited the local Post Office as part of their community studies curriculum. The visit was designed to give students a practical understanding of how the postal service functions within their community.

The students toured the Post Office, where they learned about the different services offered, including how to send and receive mail and packages. The staff explained the importance of addresses, postage, and how the postal system connects people and communities. The children were especially interested in the process of sorting and delivering mail, and the various jobs that are performed at the Post Office.

This field trip complemented the classroom lessons on community helpers and communication.

The teachers highlighted the importance of clear communication and the postal service’s role in the community. The students asked many questions, showing their curiosity and engagement with the subject.

Post office head Mr. Rakesh Kumar
also shared special Rakhi celebration offer envelopes with the children. They explained the postal services to the children very well. Overall, it was a successful visit.

Second Graders Visit UCO Bank to Explore Community Studies

JAAMMU, 19th July, 2025, Students from the second grade of our school recently embarked on an educational field trip to UCO Bank as part of their community studies curriculum under the supervision of Mr. Sudhir Kumar, Mrs. Mamta Mahajan and Mrs. Anuradha (Maid). The visit aimed to provide students with a practical understanding of financial institutions and their role within the community.

During the visit, the students received an engaging tour of the bank, where they learned about the various services offered, including savings, loans, and the importance of financial literacy. Bank staff explained the concepts of money management, the security measures in place, and how banks support the local economy. The students were particularly interested in seeing how money is handled and the different jobs within a bank. At last a bouquet as a token of love is offered to the Bank Manager Mr. Ramesh Singh Chib.

15th STATE LEVEL SPEEDBALL CHAMPIONSHIP 2024

We are thrilled to share our achievements at the 15th State Level Speedball Championship, held on December 14, 2024, at Sukh Sagar Bhawan.

SHIKSHA NIKETAN SCHOOL, JAMMU continued its supremacy in the recently declared 10th class board result by JKBOSE J&K UT for the session 2022-23.

Mr Sumit Bhagat S/o Sh Balwant Singh & Smt Anupa Rani. Mr Dheeraj Singh S/o Sh Ajeet Singh & Smt Asha Devi both of them secured 490 marks out of 500. Ms Pavani Gupta D/o Sh Sanjay Gupta & Smt Sonu secured 488 marks out of 500. Mr Ishan Banotra S/o Sh Vijay Kumar Sharma & Smt Anuradha secured 484 marks out of 500. Mr Samrat Bral S/o Sh Jagdish Lal & Smt Jyoti Sharma got 476 marks out of 500. Total 47 students appeared in 10th class board examination this year. Out of which 7 students secured 90% and above, 22 students secured 80% and above & 18 students secured 70% and above. The overall result of session 2022-2023 is 100%.

The Principal of the school Sh RAMESHWAR MENGI congratulated all the students and their parents for their success. He also hailed the effort of incharges and teachers for working hard to achieve such a glorious result. He also congratulated all the students of Jammu and Kashmir for their success and encouraged those who were not able to qualify. He assures that Shiksha Niketan is continuously working for the betterment of Education and Society in Jammu and Kashmir. Director of school Mr Risheek Mengi congratulated all the students for bringing laurels to school.

Shiksha Niketan High School Gandhi Nagar Celebrated 113th Birth Anniversary

On 13th of May 2023 Shiksha Niketan High School Gandhi Nagar Celebrated 113th birth anniversary of their founder Principal Late Sh. Dev Dutt Mengi Ji in a very simple and religious way due to sad demise of Smt. Pushpa Mengi Ji. Firstly students of different classes recite bhajans. Principal Sh. Rameshwar Mengi addressed the students. He told students about the value of relations and family in our day to day life. Principal Sh. Rameshwar Mengi along with Director Mr. Risheek Mengi Distributed Ice creams among the students.
